Queen Victoria and Mary Elizabeth Lucy, Mistress of Charlecote

Like many Victorians, Mary Elizabeth Lucy, Mistress of Charlecote in Warwickshire, was a big admirer of Queen Victoria. Due to her high social class, Mary Elizabeth came into the Queen’s presence on a number of occasions, each of which was later recounted in Mary Elizabeth’s memoirs. Using these memoirs as a guide, I have heavily researched these occasions and curated a series of articles which you can find on this page!
