“16 degrees of frost. – Got a telegram on getting up from Arthur, to say Louischen had been safely delivered of a daughter, & both, doing well, so lordered my train, & after a hurried breakfast, started off with Ly Erroll, for Buckingham Palace, where Arthur met me at the door, & said all was doing well. He took me at once to see the baby, a dear, pretty little thing, & I went in for a moment to see Louischen. Heft again at 1. – Had a telegram from Sir F. Lascelles. – After luncheon, drove with Beatrice & Harriet P. – Louise & Lorne arrived before dinner. She is not well & could not appear. – Marie Erbach also arrived with Liko, & is come to pay me a little visit. She is looking very well. -“
