Following on from last week’s Sketchbook Saturday we’re looking at another pencil, watercolour and ink sketch by Queen Victoria her fourth child, Prince Alfred. Dated 11th October 1845, the Prince can be seen in a dark blue dress, decorated with red detailing and bow. While Victoria doesn’t specifically mention the sketch in her journal, she does note that “after prayers, Albert helped me with my painting.” (1)
