This week we’re looking at one of my favourite sketches by Queen Victoria. Using pencil, watercolour, pen and ink, Queen Victoria has captured the pavilion/ family wing at Osborne as seen from the Valley foot path. The sketch was completed in August 1848, three years before the rest of the house had been built.

Queen Victoria was an amazing artist. Are any copies of her work available to buy? Thank you for sharing these.
The 1879 book ‘Queen Victoria’s Sketchbook’ is filled with a variety of art pieces by Victoria. Fortunately, many copies of the book can still be found in decent condition so I highly recommend getting a copy!
Thank you, Shannon. I will definitely look for that book.
